We often hear about the various attractions, plus must-try food and activities at the world’s top locations. Most times, we can even read their reviews on top sites. We’d even be inspired about going to a destination becausea lot of previous visitors have been raving about them.
Still, there are instances when flight attendants, travel agents, or any other professional could not fathom the kind of complaints or questions they’re being asked by travelers. While these aren’t offensive, they’re quite funny. These are just some of the most hilarious comments made in specific locations:
1. At Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Complaint / Question:
“Why isn’t there a Vienna Boys’ Choir schedule here?”
Answer: “While the Sydney Opera House may usually showcase the best talents from around the world, this doesn’t mean foreign acts have mainstays at the theater. Some only perform for a whole month, and a line-up of new showsget listed on the next. So to answer your question, there isn’t a Vienna Boys’ Choir schedule here. Perhaps you may ask the people at Grosser Musikvereinssaalthe next time you visit Vienna, Austria?
Complaint / Question:
“Say it rains tonight. Will the fireworks be instead held inside?”
A Serious, Safety-AngledAnswer: “Due to safety issues, we really can’t light up the fireworks from inside a building. What we can do is to gauge the weather condition and see how clear the skies are, so that the fireworks can be beautifully lit up.”
“We’re planning to walk from Perth to reach Sydney. Is it possible to just follow the railroad tracks?”
Answer: “This is actually impossible for almost all tourists unless you’re planning to set or beat a world record. To give you an idea, Perth and Sydney are on the opposite sides of the Australian continent. Take a plane ride, and you can reach Sydney from Perth within 4 hours.”
2. The Caribbean
“Are there icebergs in the Caribbean?”
Answer: Wow! That would be an awesome phenomenon. But in reality, icebergs never exist in the Caribbean since it’s a tropical destination. What you’ll instead see are coconut trees and beaches. Perhaps the next time you visit Greenland, Alaska, or Canada, you’d be happy to see a couple of mounds surfacing up the winter sea.
3. Monte Carlo Harbor, Monaco
“What time does the 10 o’clock ferry leave?”
Answer: It leaves at 10 o’clock. Precisely what its name says.
“Does having an ocean view room mean I’ll have a view of the ocean?”
Answer: Of course and most definitely. We wouldn’t want to give our clients some false promises of our amenities. That means an ocean view room will let you see the Monte Carlo Harbor’s beauty, especially during sunrise and sunset.
“Could you provide me a list of all the ATMs in Paris?”
That would be manually impossible to do. However, it’s best for you to go online and search for the available ATMs near you, via Google Maps. It would also be practical to bring a printed map, so it’s more convenient to glance through locales and see their nearest ATMs.
“What’s in a BLT sandwich?”
This type of sandwich has Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato as its main ingredients.”
“When do they shut down the waterfalls?” (At the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont)
The cave at this park has natural waterfalls hence it would not be possible to turn it off. Mother Nature willed it to be so.
“What language is spoken in Spain?”
Spanish is the commonly spoken language in Spain.
These are just 10 of the most hilarious complaints and questions which tour guides, flight attendants, pilots, and other travel-based professional has ever heard. Hopefully, these made your day a bit more interesting than usual. It’s still best to remember how there are no such things as stupid questions. Are you traveling to another country or continent? Thenasking questions is still one of the safest things you can do to make the best of your trip.
